The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is now accepting applications for the 2026 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. The program is designed to enhance the specialty crop industry by offering competitive grant funding made possible through the USDA’s Agriculture Marketing Service.

Projects involving fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, culinary herbs & spices or nursery floriculture and horticulture crops are eligible for the grants. Groups eligible to apply include non-profits, local, state, federal government entities, for-profit organizations, as well as colleges and universities.

“Specialty crops play a vital role in Oklahoma agriculture and projects will need to show how they are benefitting and enhancing competitiveness across the entire specialty crop industry,” ODAFF Market Development Coordinator Jason Harvey said. 

Proposals may be for, but not limited to research, promotion, marketing, nutrition, food safety & security, education, increased knowledge and consumption, improved efficiency &reduced costs of distribution systems, conservation, product development, food agricultural practices, good handling practices and good manufacturing practices.

Applications that only benefit an individual grower or business are not eligible.
