Envirothon Field Days 2026

What is the Oklahoma Envirothon? 
The Oklahoma Envirothon is a statewide competition for high school students (grades 9–12, ages 14–19) to test their knowledge of the environment. Teams of five compete in soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, range, policy, and a special topic. The 2027 competition will be held April 30, 2027 at the OSU-Stillwater campus.

What are Envirothon Fall Field Days?
Fall Field Days are FREE field trip opportunities to introduce students (grades 9-12) to environmental science knowledge and skills. The day ends with a friendly ‘mini-Envirothon’ for groups to show off their new knowledge.

There will be three full-day field trip events this year on Wednesdays from 9:00am-2:30pm:

Oct 21–Edmond, OK, Arcadia Conservation Education Area
Oct 28 –Tulsa, OK, Chandler Park
Nov 4–Stillwater, OK, Lake McMurtry

For High School Students: This free event provides an introduction to the Envirothon and hands-on training in soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, and the 2027 current environmental issue “Soil Health Management: Agricultural Principles and Stewardship”. Sessions led by OSU faculty, students, and other natural resource professionals.  

For Teachers/Coaches: Don’t just sit there. Attend learning sessions with students, get tips for student-led action projects, and participate in Project WET professional development.

*All participants should dress for outdoor activities and bring their lunch and drink/refillable water bottle. Lunch is NOT provided.

**Registration is open to single teams (5) or class/groups (up to 25 per coach), and participation will be confirmed based on the order in which registrations are received. To support broad access and diverse school participation, priority may also be given to ensuring representation across different schools, districts, and regions.
