WILD About Outdoor Classrooms

Join us for WILD About Outdoor Classroom Days and EE Festivals, a hands-on workshop designed for Conservation District staff, Extension and 4-H educators, natural resource professionals, and community partners interested in creating engaging outdoor learning experiences for local students.
Whether you’re planning a conservation field day, Outdoor Classroom Day, environmental education festival, or other student-focused event, this workshop will help you move from idea to action. You’ll explore proven event models, experience hands-on Project WILD activities, and learn how to use the NAAEE Guidelines for Excellence to create high-quality programs that are educational, engaging, and impactful.
During this workshop, you’ll:
- Discover successful Outdoor Classroom Day and EE Festival models
- Explore wildlife-focused Project WILD activities perfect for field events
- Learn strategies for coordinating partners, presenters, and volunteers
- Develop a plan for an event in your community this school year
- Connect with others working to expand outdoor learning opportunities across Oklahoma
Participants will receive a Project WILD guide, planning resources, and dedicated time to begin building their own event. A working lunch will provide additional opportunities for networking and collaboration.
