Following today’s U.S. House of Representatives vote passing the 2018 Farm Bill, Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture Jim Reese gave the following statement:
“We are very pleased Republicans and Democrats came together in uncommon fashion to pass the farm bill with 88 percent of all legislators voting for it, including 100 percent of Oklahoma Congressmen: both Senators Inhofe and Lankford, and Congressmen Lucas, Cole, Mullin, Russell and Hern. Congressman Frank Lucas should be particularly proud that most of the provisions of his 2014 bill remained intact. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue calls this farm bill an evolution and not a revolution. Credits to Former Ag Chairman Lucas for the difficult work he plowed in 2014.”
