Sweetgum
Description
A large forest tree to 100 feet tall or more and a straight trunk to 2.5 feet or more in diameter, with a conical shape when young and an upright, broad crown on older trees. Common to abundant in moist soil of valleys and lower slopes in hardwood forests and scattered with pines. Great for erosion control and shade tree with odd star-shaped leaves turning reddish in autumn.

USDA Hardiness Zones
The primary guide to determine plant hardiness is the USDA Hardiness Zone Map, which divides the United States into ten zones based on average minimum temperatures.
